USA Hockey Codes of Conduct
Hello Bears families,
We have reached the Thanksgiving break point of the season!
With some teams prepping to participate in Silver Stick this coming weekend and some teams having the week off, I wanted to take a moment and share the
that was brought up in the NorCal board meeting over the weekend. I would ask everyone to give it a quick read and a reminder that how we act, we represent our children, our club and our community as a whole. We must abide by the code of conduct and represent our club to our best abilities.
I know there have been a few incidents that Bears have been involved in and I’m not trying to single anybody out so let’s as a team give this a read and be a great example to all other clubs going forward!
Thank you all!
Brad Martin, Hockey Manager

Unfortunately, this season we have seen a continued presence of spectators and parents displaying behavior off the ice that does not benefit the kids on the ice. It is in this negative behavior that our kids and players are watching, even when we don’t think they are. When a parent or spectator criticize officials or players, cheers aggressively with inappropriate/harsh language, confronts/argues with opposing spectators, and/or becomes a distraction, these are all grounds for a spectator to be ejected from a game by an on or off ice official. As a NorCal Board it is our hope that Head Coaches communicate to their parents the expectation of positive behavior prior to games. We also hope that Team Managers and/or Club Board Members serve as mediators during games to assist in heated situations especially in communicating with parents on their teams. I welcome incident reports so that I am aware of situations that arise and can make internal notes. Suzanne SpradlingVP, NorCal Youth Hockey
